Join us fora wildflower hike in the Pilcher Park woods. Hike the flat pavedPilcher Interpretive Trail and immerse yourself in Virginia Bluebells.As far as the eye can see there is a sea of blue! Also see red andwhite Trillium as well as yellow and white Trout Lily. Skunk Cabbageand Marsh Marigolds await your entrance to the wetland area andToothwort and Bloodroot line the path. We have some of the largest Jackin the Pulpits you will ever see! And don't forget fairies live beneaththe May Apples so keep your eyes to the ground. This is only availableat Pilcher Park from late April until June. This is a one hour hike.

Thisprogram features seasonal floral design taught by the Bird HavenGreenhouse Horticulturist. This class is available monthly orseasonally. The projects can range from a table top display to adecorative piece for the door of a room or house. You may choose amongmany themes for this class: flora and fauna coaters; Easter orChristmas centerpieces; container gardening; or jungle safari. Allsupplies are provided for this one hour class.

Introductionto the world of birding! Learn common birds found in Illinois. Learnsome bird calls and discover different beak types and seed preferencesfor your feeder. This can include a bird walk with binoculars if youchoose.
This class is 1 1/2 hours with binocular walk.
