Paving the Future of Bird Haven Greenhouse & Conservatory

The Joliet Park Foundation has embarked on a mission to maintain the newly renovated Bird Haven Greenhouse & Conservatory . An exciting aspect of this project is the Buy-A-Brick Program.This program offers you an opportunity to become involved in thisworthy cause through the purchase of a brick, recognizing someone orsomething important in your life. Your bricks will pave walkways to andfrom the Greenhouse and the Barber & Oberwortmann Horticultural Center .

The Buy-A-Brick Programis offered for a limited time only. Bricks may be purchased byindividuals, families, businesses, or not-for-profit organizations.

Engraving Details

When you sponsor a brick, your payment does not entitle you to receiveany bricks, but rather is a charitable contribution to the Joliet Park Foundation. For each contribution, an engraved brick will be placed in the walk. Asany benefits given in return for the contribution are considered“incidental,” the full amount of your contribution is deductible forfederal tax purposes. The Joliet Park Foundation reserves the right todeny any brick purchase application which it determines to beinappropriate by virtue of the stated or implied message. Purchasersshall have no control over the location, design, material, appearance,construction, manufacture, installation, maintenance or repair of thebricks. The Joliet Park Foundation reserves the right to edit text and determine the location of thebricks. A minimum of 100 bricks must be sold before installationbegins.

For multiple brick orders, please make copies of the Buy-a-Brick order form or print/type information on an additional sheet of paper.

Brick Inscription Guidelines:

  • Inscriptions may contain up to 13 characters per line, including spaces and punctuation.
  • Use only capital letters.
  • Use numerals (0-9).
  • Use of symbols will be limited to: ampersand (&), apostrophe (‘), comma (,), dash or hyphen (-), exclamation point (!), forward slash (/), numeric (#), plus (+), quotes (“”).
  • Inscriptions will communicate non-commercial messages only. Company names may be used, but company phone numbers, slogans, sales pitches and logos will not be permitted.
  • Discriminatory or inappropriate messages which refer to an individual’s or group’s sex, race, color, religious creed, national origin, age or physical handicap will not be permitted.
  • Bricks ordered together will be placed together to the extent possible. Brick orders submitted separately will not be placed together.

  • Pilcher Park Nature Center off Gougar Rd., follow signs to Nature Center
  • Provena Saint Joseph Inwood Athletic Club or the Multi-Purpose Center, 3000 West Jefferson Street
