Facilities: Barber and Oberwortmann Horticulture Center

The Andrew B. Barber and Clarence D. Oberwortmann Horticultural Center is located adjacent to the Bird Haven Greenhouse in picturesque Pilcher Park.

Dedicated in 1998, the Barber & Oberwortmann Horticultural Center is a 12,000 square foot facility located adjacent to the Bird Haven Greenhouse.  The Center features a Multi-Purpose Room, Resource Center, Kitchen, The Gazebo Gift Shop, and Covered Deck.  Its limestone exterior with wooden-beamed entryway and charming outdoor covered deck is conducive to the natural surroundings of Pilcher Park.  The Center enhances the historic Bird Haven Greenhouse and Conservatory by providing additional space for a business reception, wedding reception or family celebration.

• Joliet Area Garden Club:  second Tuesday of each month, 6:45pm, for adults Joliet Park District's Barber & Oberwortmann Horticultural Center, 227 N. Gougar Road Join other gardeners for an evening of fun that features interesting topics, projects and speakers. Fee:  $20 Annual Dues
• The Horticultural Center is an ideal rental facility for any occasion.  The spacious main hall, with a capacity of 250 people sit down style or 450 reception style, can be subdivided into smaller rooms to suit smaller gatherings.  The hall is perfect for wedding receptions, parties, business meetings, reunions, and more!  The Center provides a truly unique and memorable site to host your special day.
